What do the letters and numbers on the bearing stand for?

A basic code is used to indicate the bearing's inner diameter, diameter series, width series and type, generally up to five digits, first described as follows:


1) The bearing inner diameter is indicated by the first and H-digit from the right of the basic code. For the commonly used inner diameter d=20 ~ 480mm bearing inner 

diameter is generally a multiple of 5, these two numbers indicate the bearing inner diameter size is divided by 5 quotient, such as 04 indicates d= 20mm; 12 means d = 

60mm and so on. 

For bearings with an inner diameter of 10mm, 12mm, 15mm and 17mm, the inner diameter codes are 00, 01, 02 and 03. For bearings with an inner diameter less than 

10mm and greater than 500mm, the inner diameter representation method is otherwise specified, see GB/T272-93.


2) The diameter series of bearings (that is, the change series of bearings with the same structure and the same inner diameter in terms of outer diameter and width) are 

represented by the third digit from the right of the basic code. For example, for radial bearings and radial thrust bearings, 0 and 1 indicate extra light series; 2 indicates 

light series; 3 indicates the middle series; 4 Indicates the heavy series. The size pairs between the series are shown in the figure below. In addition to the use of 1 to indicate 

the ultra-light series, the rest of the thrust bearing is the same as the representation of the radial bearing.


3) The width series of bearings (that is, the series of changes in the width of bearings with the same structure, inner diameter and diameter series) is represented by the fourth 

digit from the right of the basic code. When the width series is listed as series 0 (normal series) for the comparison of the diameter series in Figure 13-4, the width series number 

O is not indicated in the designation for most bearings, but for aligning roller bearings and tapered roller bearings, the width series number 0 should be indicated.


Diameter series codes and width series codes are collectively referred to as dimension series codes.


4) The bearing type code is indicated by the fifth digit from the right of the basic code (for cylindrical roller bearings and needle roller bearings and other types of code is a letter).


2. postcode

The post-bearing code is used to indicate the structure, tolerance and special requirements of the material of the bearing with letters and numbers. There are a lot of postcode content, the following introduces a few common code names.

1) The internal structure code is a different internal structure of the same type of bearing, which is indicated by the letter followed by the basic code. For example, angular contact ball bearings with contact angles of 15°, 25° and 40° are respectively represented by C, AC and B to indicate the difference in internal structure.

2) Bearing tolerance levels are divided into 2, 4, 5, 6, 6X and 0 levels, a total of 6 levels, from high to low, the code is/PZ, / P4 '/ PS, / P6, / P6X and/PO. Among the tolerance classes, class 6X is only suitable for tapered roller bearings; Class 0 is a common class and is not indicated in the wheel bearing code.

3) Commonly used bearing radial clearance series is divided into 1 group, 2 groups, 0 groups, 3 groups, 4 groups and 5 groups, a total of 6 groups, radial clearance from small to large. Group o clearance is the commonly used clearance group, which is not marked in the bearing code, and the remaining clearance groups are respectively represented by/CI, / CZ, / C3, / C4, / CS in the bearing code.


3. Prefix code

The prefix of the bearing is used to indicate the partial parts of the bearing, which are represented by letters. If L is used to represent the separable ring of the separable bearing; K represents the rolling element of the bearing and the cage assembly, etc
